摘要：Over the last twenty years, there have been many changes and evelopments in the fields of information technology, psychology and sociolinguistics. These changes and developments have increased the need for education and the require life-long learning process in society. In life-long learning, it is individual who is responsible for shaping his/her own educational life. Therefore, educators feel great need to train learners taking control over the process and content of their own learning. This study gives knowledge about definition of learner autonomy, its development in historical process, its importance and the rule of teacher.
