摘要:The aim of this study was to evaluate obesity's repercussions on the educational processes according to the teachers' opinions. The study was conducted through phenomenological approach, one of the qualitative research methods. The study group was composed of 20 teachers working in the central district of the province of Sivas who were selected with regard to the maximum variation sampling. The data were collected through questionnaire, and content analysis, descriptive analysis and constant comparison technique were employed in the analysis of data collected. As a result of the analysis, the findings were presented in 29 categories under 7 themes. According to the findings, the participants were found to have sufficient knowledge on the obesity's repercussions on the educational processes. However, the vast majority of participants reported that, in their schools, there were no efforts taken in combating obesity. The fact that the remaining participants described the efforts taken against obesity in their schools as routine activities conducted within the school shows that, in Turkish schools, there are no noteworthy activities in the fight against obesity. Because none of the participants mentioned a special effort or program conducted within their school with regard to obesity. This suggests that the problem is recognized however there are no organized efforts taken in the schools with regard to the fight against the problem
