摘要:Geography is a the process of experience series which enables human beings to observe, explore and understand the world while allowing connections with the other people on earth. Children's queries about the world show that the interest and the curiosity towards geography emerge at early ages. It is important to encourage children's innate curiosity and their enthusiasm for exploring, which make them natural geographers, with developmentally appropriate geography teaching starting at pre-school level. Geography teaching provides children with sensitivity to environment together with a deeper understanding and awareness towards their surroundings and facilitates meaningful relationships among the people from other cultures. Learning geographical concepts in early years is likely to affect the following academic skills in positive manner. In this respect, this study deals with the importance of geography teaching at pre-school level, teaching objective throughout this process and basic sciences embedded in geography teaching. This study is intended to serve as a guide for educators teaching children at early ages and future studies regarding this issue.
