摘要:Abstract The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between the student academic achievement scores and the variables of family income of the students studying at the faculty of education, the place they are living in with their families, the education level of parents, in which entrance year of the university exam they have succeeded, whether they've gone to a special course or not and to determine to what extend finishing the high school degree explains academical success. The findings of the research ,which is a scanning patterned descriptive work, is a result of the investigation of demographic variables and the end of the term average success of the 333 students studying at the Muallim Rıfat Faculty of Education in the University of Kilis 7 Aralık in the 2010-2011 academic year. According to the findings obtained; the factors as the students' family income, father's level of education, in which year of the exam attending the university, the condition of going to a special course are determined to be %5 of impotance level and statisticaly significant ; a conclusion that finishing high school degree explains success at a low level is reached.
