摘要:Abstract The aim of this study was to compare the Social Studies program applied at the primary school 4.-7.th grades between 1998 and 2004 with the new primary school Social Studies program started to be applied since 2005-2006 academic years in Turkey, in terms of fact of globalization. In this study, both of the Social Studies programs and textbooks published by the Ministry of Education related to the programs were examined. The study was conducted through document analysis as one of the qualitative research methods. To assure the reliability of the study, the experts' opinions were asked. According to the results of the study, it was observed that in 2005 Social Studies program the fact of globalization is included more than in 1998 program. Furthermore, when the textbooks related to both of the programs were examined, it was seen that the subjects considered as concerning globalization are under different titles in the textbooks related to1998 program, on the other hand, in the textbooks related to 2005 program, the subjects are involved in one each separate unit focusing on globalization. Besides it was detected that in these textbooks, there are many activities regarding globalization. Consequently, it can be stated that in the new primary school Social Studies programs, the fact of globalization is involved more in terms of aim/gain, content and activities than in 1998 program.
