摘要:The present paper tackles the situation of *s between consonants in Mycenaean Greek. It is proposed that inherited *s was still preserved in that position. The Mycenaean evidence is twofold: orthographic, with one example of written s (a3-ka-sa-ma), and phonetic, since the position between consonants is more conservative than other positions where an intermediate stage before its disappereance in alphabetic Greek is attested for that phoneme.
