摘要：Este artículo presenta los resultados para el año 2008 del capítulo chileno del tercer informe Obitel (Observatorio Iberoamericano de la Ficción televisiva). Estos informes buscan dar cuenta de la producción y exhibición de ficción en la televisión abierta en un formato que permita comparar tendencias en los diez países de Iberoamérica que participan del proyecto. Los resultados que aquí se presentan se obtuvieron de un análisis cuantitativo, considerando variables relativas a la producción, exhibición y formato/género de programas ficcionales difundidos por la televisión abierta chilena durante 2008. Este informe cuantifica la producción y exhibición de ficción chilena, latinoamericana y de Estados Unidos con la finalidad de constituirse en una herramienta para dimensionar adecuadamente el desarrollo de la industria nacional así como para detectar tendencias de mediano plazo.. Palabras clave: ficción televisiva; audiencias; cine en televisión; información; espectáculo en TV; ficción de estreno en TV; audiencia de la ficción; cine y ficción para TV This article presents the results of the Chilean chapter of the 3 rd OBITEL (Ibero-American Televised Fiction Observatory) Report for 2008. These reports seek to explain the production and broadcast of fiction on television in a format that allows the comparison of trends in ten Ibero-American countries that participated in the project. The results presented here were obtained from a quantitative analysis that considered the variables relative to the production, exhibition, and format/genre of fiction programs aired on Chilean television during 2008. This report quantifies the production and exhibition of Chilean, Latin American, and US fiction in order to establish itself as a tool for properly measuring the development of the national industry as well as to detect medium-term trends.
