L’articolo intende dimostrare che gli enti locali italiani nell’erogazione del servizio asili nido prestano adeguata attenzione a tali aspetti e che, inoltre, le soluzioni di gestione alternative a quella in economia presentano livelli di economicità più alti ma siano qualitativamente peggiori. Sono stati quindi esaminati i dati contenuti nei certificati al consuntivo dei Comuni italiani capoluogo di Provincia. The article aims to make out that Italian local authorities' nursery school services pay sufficient attention to these aspects. At the same, we expect that solutions differing from that of direct management will show higher cost savings but be qualitatively worse. We analyzed final accounts data of the main municipalities. The results don ’ t confirm the hypothesis and highlight wide differences about qualitative and quantitative performance.
