摘要：Urbanism and the environment have become interrelated themes. Population growth and rural-urban migration have caused a rise in new environmental issues, many of them affecting vulnerable populations. The purpose of this study is to identify the relations between poverty and the environment in Brazil and their consequences for urban environmental protection. The analysis confronts social and environmental factors, and their regulatory frameworks, considering the determinations of judicial decisions.
