摘要:This paper examines the relation between easterly waves that propagate from aver the caribbean ssea toward the east pacific ocean and deep convective bursts that frequently occur over the gulf of tehuantepec and often intensify into tropical cyclones. This study shows that there are disturbances present over the caribbean at the time the convection is developing over the gulf and that the disturbances have a horizontal and vertical structure and propagation features characteristic of easterly waves.
