摘要:The book review normally has three (3) sections: introduction; description and summary of content; and evaluative conclusion, made up of a series of rhetorical steps and moves. In this article we propose to recognize the linguistic features that provide uniformity, indicate the discursive content and delineate local communicative purposes in the “presentation” section of book reviews of linguistics. To do this we sustain theoretically gender analysis from a rhetorical perspective (Swales, 1990); and methodologically in textual analysis based on moves and steps and corpus-based research. The corpus of study consists of twenty (20) reviews of books written in Spanish language and published in four (4) journals. The criteria for analysis are textual marks or linguistic features (Gallardo, 2010), such as: prototypical ways to introduce the different steps, semantic class of verbs, discourse markers and modalization. As a result we must, given the communicative purpose of the presentation, ritualized structures to introduce the steps taken as a starting point the work, the author or the audience; relational verbs abound, space and process t; the preferred discourse markers are theming, exemplification, connectors addition and comparison, cause-consequence and contextual reference; There appreciative expensive items to the value of the work and career of the author.
