摘要：The objective of this work was to evaluate the impact of QUALIS methodology in the scientific production in Brazilian Soil Science, as well as the representativeness of this scientific production into the Agronomy and the big area Agrarian Science. The data used in this work were obtained at the CAPES and GeoCAPES websites. The results showed that the scientific production in A international journals in Soil Science have grown in the analyzed triennia (98-00, 01-03 and 04-06), however, there was a decrease in the scientific production at A national journals in the same triennia. Simultaneously, the representativeness of the scientific production in A national journals in Soil Science into Agronomy and Agrarian Science was higher than the same representativeness related to A international journals. In the current QUALIS the scientific production are distributed in all strata, being more visible in B1 stratum. Moreover, it wasn’t possible to say if there was growth in this scientific production, due to the current QUALIS was only evaluated in the last triennium. The scientific production in the A1 and A2 QUALIS needs to be increased, however, we recognize the difficulty to publish in international journals due to the regionalization that not only the Soil Science presents but also Agrarian Science in general. We suggest that the CAPES graduate evaluation system use other quality indicators than the QUALIS methodology.
