摘要:It is believed that one role of the pre-school is to be a space where children can acquire new languages. To do so, it is necessary to organize an environment for reading where the child can understand the social function of writing In the case of deaf children, studies demonstrate that early exposure to Sign Language (SL) serves as a base for launching the development of other linguistic abilities. This study proposes an addition to the activity of telling stories to deaf children by deaf teachers equipped with different media for telling children’s stories. To facilitate the presentation of stories, in the study being conducted, children’s books are being adapted in the following manners: illustrations are enlarged by hand and placed on an easel; illustrations are enlarged in color copies and placed on an easel; illustrations are placed on overhead projector slides; characters are transformed into puppets etc. The importance of this activity is justified by the fact that it is the child’s mode of participation - still in an oral phase (and in this case in SL) - in the practices of reading and writing that will allow the child to build a relationship with writing as a discursive practice and as an object of mediation with the world.
