摘要:This article discusses the presence of sign language interpreters in the learning process of deaf students. Education has called upon this professional, without, however, understanding his or her role and its scope in the classroom. There are few studies that analyze sign language interpreters, and those that exist, are usually written by educational theorists, who examine the subject by treating sign language as an additional pedagogical resource that is a “facilitator” and “mediator” of the learning process. The purpose of this article is to conduct a first theoretical approximation between the practice of the sign language interpreter and Translation Studies.
