摘要：O presente estudo tem como objetivo discutir a noção de construção corporal através da body modification . Essas formas de marcações corporais fazem parte do circuito dos piercings e tatuagens, no entanto, são formas menos diluídas socialmente e consideradas mais extremas, como: escarificações, alargadores, implantes subcutâneos, língua bifurcada, surfaces e suspensões corporais. O olhar aqui lançado demonstra o caráter complexo e contemporâneo dessas práticas, em que o corpo aparece como espaço de intersecção entre as orientações culturais e as experiências pessoais dos sujeitos envolvidos com essas técnicas. Palavras-chave: body modification ; tatuagem; estilo de vida. ABSTRACT This paper focuses on the theme of body construction through body modification . These kinds of body markings are part of the piercing and tattoo setting, although they belong to socially less diluted and deemed more radical forms, just like: scarifications, augmentation, subcutaneous implants, splitted tongues, surfaces and body suspensions. My approach attempts to picture the complex contemporaneous character of these practices in which the body emerges as the locus of intersection between cultural orientations and personal experiences of the subjects involved in these techniques.
