摘要:Abstract: Research sample included 215 students of class VII from three junior high schools in Pekanbaru Riau, on Natural Science Subjects. The experiment was conducted two phases include (1) design and development of learning materials (2) implementation of learning materials. In this study, contextual learning module was developed by applying RANGKA strategy which mainly involved Rumuskan (conclude), Amati (observe), Nyatakan (state), Gabungkan (combine), Komunikasi (communicate) and Amalkan (implement) covering the topic on Organism Diversity. The results showed there were significant differences in the science process skill and mastery of the concept and there were no significant differences in problem solving abilities. Adaptive pattern obtained presents empirical data that proves RANGKA contextual learning strategies in learning biology particularly can foster science process skills and mastery of concepts. Keywords: Science process skill, Contextual Teaching and Learning, Problem Solving Abstrak: Penelitian ini melibatkan sampel 215 siswa kelas VII dari tiga SMPN di Pekanbaru Riau pada mata pelajaran IPA. Penelitian dilaksanakan dua tahap meliputi (1) disain dan pengembangan bahan pembelajaran (2) implementasi bahan pembelajaran. Pembelajaran kontekstual menggunakan strategi Rumuskan, Amati, Nyatakan, Gabungkan, Komunikasi dan Amalkan (RANGKA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada keterampilan proses dan penguasaan konsep, dan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Pola dapatan yang diperoleh menyajikan data empiris yang membuktikan strategi pembelajaran kontekstual RANGKA dalam pembelajaran Biologi khususnya dapat memupuk keterampilan proses, dan meningkatakan penguasaan konsep.
