摘要：Famers thought it was the best solution to control and regulate the grain market. In the tirthies, under the effects of a severe crisis, the pressure on the government to intervene increased and in 1936 it was decided that all harvested grain in the country had to be given to the Agricultural Consortium, an association of producers created with the purpose of marketing the theat. The decision forced the construction of bulky and solid silos, many of them in concrete. It was an activity that requested the work of many architects and engineers. However, the restrictions imposed by the autarky, forced them to reduce the consumption of iron and to try to find less expensive solutions. The article shows how the problem of conservation of wheat is a clear example of the relationship between economic policy, architecture and construction industry.
