摘要：This article intends to discuss the relations between caricature and other areas of the cultural production in the oeuvre of the painter, sculptor, draughtsman, and French caricaturist Honoré Daumier. I intend to establish parallels between his artistic production and his historical hour, that is, Paris, the capital of the 19th Century, contesting preconceived notions such as “political caricature” in opposition to caricature “de moeurs”, an aspect consolidated in the most influential bibliography on the artist.
