摘要：In this study, we attempted to establish the path of ESEF-UFRGS in direction to the internationalization of higher education and to highlight the main challenges to its realization. The study took as reference staff interviews, institutional documents, research reports and scientific publications. The results pointed out that ESEF-UFRGS has taken action in direction of the internationalization of its research activities and undergraduate program. The main actions were student and academic mobility, international publications and participation in scientific meetings with and without presentations. The major challenge has been to establish a culture of internalization in which the exchange with institutions of other countries is seen by the academic community as way to qualify teaching and research.
