摘要:In this study, a composite material production was aimed by mixing solid wastes at various rates such as clay pulp which is formed during boron production in Kütahya Emet Colemanite Boric Acid Plant, unground slag aggregates obtained from Iskenderun Steel Factory and waste PET bottles granules. Thirteen different mixtures were prepared (the control mixtures containing only waste PET granules, four natural sand aggregate mixtures, four unground slag aggregate mixtures and four clay pulp aggregate mixtures). Aggregates were replaced with waste PET granules, in amount of 20, 40, 60 and 80% by weight. The mixtures were placed into molds of 70x70x70 mm in size and fired for 140 minutes at 300 °C. It was concluded as a result of unit weight and compressive strength tests performed on the specimens, unground slag aggregate and waste clay pulp has the potential to be used in the production of composite material on the ratios between 40-60%. Evaluation of waste clay pulp formed during boron production and unground slag obtained from iron and steel plants by mixing with waste PET to produce recycled composite materials; can contribute to elimination the storage problem of mentioned wastes and reduction of environmental damages.
