摘要:The present article deals with the relation between the symbolic structures of Christianity and Judaism and the theme of violence. It begins with the supposition that violence, when practiced in the name of a divinity or a faith, should not be rapidly or superficially treated as it were a detour from the origin of religion, or from its most profound values, but should be understood within the symbolic structures of religion, many times characterized by a complex of signs of and illusions to violence. This is not, nonetheless, a mere accident in the trajectory of religion, being that it can be found in its birthplace and foundational symbols.
