摘要：After verifying the main indicators of paid work performed by women in the salvadoran labour market, the article analyses, on the basis of a work hypothesis, the possible impacts on the new conditions of paid and unpaid work, which will come about when the Central America/Dominican Republic-US Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) enters into force. The main idea is that the new free trade and investment agreement will reinforce the precariousness of paid work performed by women in El Salvador. The process intensified due to the aggresive economic reform program for external openness and economic liberalization, which was launched in El Salvador in 1989.
