摘要：In contrast to the principles of Engineering and Design, those of EcoDesign probably only began in earnest following the environmental concerns resulting from the Oil Crisis in the early 1970s. This paper is a reflection of our progress over the years following and offers a Systematic Approach which has evolved through testing over some ten years. The Approach owes much to other such systems and is intended to aid designers and engineers in the task of developing new products in a manner that can be easily integrated into the tried and tested methods already established in Engineering and Design practice.
