摘要:Barry Kernfeld in Pop Song Piracy: Disobedience and Music Distribution since 1929 presents the history of music piracy in the music industry in the United States and European countries. Kernfeld presents the long lasting battle over the control of music between record labels, muscians, and consumers. Progressing from a consideration of time song sheets, to fake books, to photocopies, tapes, compact discs, and digital files, Kerfeld argues that all have been strong forces in the illegal distribution of music, and record labels, musicians, bootleggers and consumers all have different opinions concerning the benefits of these forms of piracy. This book provides the knowledge needed to analyze the past and predict the future of the music industry, all premised on the concept of a repeating cycle in music piracy.
