标题：Democracia y desarrollo: análisis del caso del Área Metropolitana del Valle de Aburrá (amva) como institución que lidera la configuración de la región
摘要：This article is the result of the research project entitled "the relationship among State - Society - Territory: A study done from the role of the Valle de Aburrá Metropolitan Area (AMVA, as it stand for in Spanish) as public and administrative instrument in the shaping of the region", that was carried out during year 2006 and the first half of 2007. The shaping of the AMVA is explored analyzing its legal conditions, the inter-relation among its 9 municipalities and the participation processes which have been designed to facilitate the fulfillment of the defined roles by the Colombian laws. The study presents an understanding of the administrative and political progress of this institution to lead the shaping of the region.
