摘要:This text presents the data of the first phase of a study about the education of special needs students in the Rio de Janeiro´s public school system. It also discusses the role and actions developed by Special Education within the framework of the current Inclusive Education proposal. Based on semi-structured interviews and on official quantitative data, the research showed, among other results, the importance of Special Education specialized support and of the articulation with Regular Education for the onset of school inclusion in this system.
