摘要：The article examines issues involving the social dimension of sustainability. The survey compares the territorial development indicators in Brazil, as the level of economic development, through the Gross Domestic Product and the Human Development Index. The objective is to verify the actual level of socioeconomic development of regions. The methodology consists of a descriptive quantitative, with secondary data collection. Data analysis indicates that social indicators should be well researched and analyzed in order to complete on improving the quality of life and that the specific IDH’s not explain consistently the overall HDI of the States, being the object of analysis further the variable component of these elements and their regional crossings.
