The methodology used in the study was based on the theory raised by means of literature review, outlining a qualitative research, exploratory in nature, through case study. The variables worked led the analysis, identification and classification of the process of developing products in four companies of different branches of industrial activity. The work started from the assumption that the design, incorporated in the organizational structure of a company through the management of design and integrated with other business units, strengthens the strategy of organizations.
