摘要:Accuracy of routing protocol performance in mobile ad hoc network (MANET) depends on many parameters. Besides many parameters propagation model and node velocity are the two among them. Node mobility is responsible for network topology and propagation model for calculating signal strength at receiver. In wireless network MANET suffers a huge loss in performance due to obstacle between transmission and variation in signal strength at receiver. Many routing protocols are proposed based on which neglect the effect of fading and path loss. So it is important to find the effect of fading and node velocity for accurate estimation and analysis of performance of routing protocols in MANET. We investigate the effect of propagation model (both non-fading and fading) and mobility on the performance of the ad hoc routing protocol such as Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV), Dynamic Manet On Demand (DYMO) and Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and present the results gathered from simulation using NS2. The result shows that propagation model and mobility has strong impact on the performance of MANET routing protocol.
