摘要：This annual report summarizes forest nursery seedling produc-tion in the United States. The number of seedlings reported isused to estimate the number of acres of forest planting per year.Prepared by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA),Forest Service, Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) and Stateand Private Forestry (S&PF), this report includes State-by-Statebreakdowns, regional totals, and an analysis of data trends.Universities located in the southern, northeast, and western regionsof the United States made an effort to collect data fromall the major producers of forest and conservation seedlingsin the 50 States. Forest and conservation nursery managersprovided the information presented in this report. As far as weknow, it is the most complete compilation of such data in thecountry. Because all data are provided voluntarily by outsidesources and some data are estimated, however, caution mustbe used in drawing inferences.
