摘要:The paper addresses the cutting issue of adapting the traditionalRomanian land use practices to the newest urban planning policies. Thestudy area comprises a region-like mental space in the south-eastern part ofBihor County in western Romania. Due to its high archaism degree, theregion encounters a great resilience to structural changes, including spatialdevelopment. Examining the experience of Nucet, the smallest town in BeiuşLand, the paper focuses on presenting firstly the general state of art of theRomanian spatial development policy making and secondly, the localstrategic planning process. The further considerations section at the end ofthe paper tries to briefly conclude our findings and to anticipate the changesthat the new land use plans will bring. As planning policies are heldresponsible for the very future of a local (as well as regional) community, achange of the present practices is a must. And the change is aboutintegrating local and regional strategic options into local land use planning.
