摘要:Regulatory human health risk assessments in France usually consider adults and children separately and examine specific exposure factors for each. The “Methodology in human health risk assessment” Section of the SFSE held discussions on the latest developments in physiology, epidemiology, toxicology, and child behavior in 2015. Following these discussions, the Section concludes that children's characteristics should be considered in more detail in regulatory risk assessments in France. To take particular effects into account, specific toxicity values or adjustment factors could be used. Exposure assessment would also be improved if conducted for narrower age groups. Specific instructions or guidelines could help familiarize assessors with this valuable development.
