摘要：Radio-communications date from more than a century. Radio-devices of the past were solely based on hardware solutions. However, modern technology has reached the level where it is possible to design such a radio-device with characteristics (modulation type, frequency band, applied protective codes) depending not on hardware but on software. A radio-device designed in such a manner is named 'a software-based radio'. Its characteristics will make it a radio of future times. This paper deals with the software - based radio architecture and with its importance for the future development of radio-communications.
