摘要:The Karbi and Bodo are the important ethnic groups in North-East India and who hold rich and unique traditional knowledge. They are the true ethnic tribal community. In Assam, surrounding area of Khetri of Dimoria block of the district of Kamrup (Metro), a large number of Karbi and Bodo people live there. They are involved in many types of cultural expressions, agricultural, indigenous medicinal thought etc. which are related to traditional knowledge and this generally has been passed on from generation to generation. Traditional knowledge generally refers to traditional knowledge systems embedded in the cultural traditions of regional, indigenous, ethnic groups or local communities. It includes different types of knowledge about traditional technologies of subsistence (e.g. tools and techniques for hunting or agriculture), folk medicines, traditional preservation techniques of different materials and ecological knowledge etc. The Karbi and Bodo are preserving their own traditional knowledge in terms of daily life practices. It is used among those ethnic people as a part of their culture and it is most significant and important aspect of Bodo and Karbi people. In this paper, we have documented the traditional knowledge and discussed on different types of traditional techniques among the Bodo and Karbi people of Khetri are.
