摘要：This paper focuses on the economic framework of industrialdevelopment with a special focus on the assessment ofprospects for coal power production industry development inRussia over the short-term and medium-term horizons. Weanalyse both social and environmental aspects of coal powerindustry from the standpoint of energy safety and sustainabledevelopment of the national economy. We distinguish the linesof improvement of technologies of coal power production aswell as provide their economic assessment. Our economicassessment of the coal industry in Russia demonstrated thatprospects for coal power industry development would bedetermined, in many respects, by coal price, conventionalpollutant emission limits, stimulating policy of the government,and availability of high-performance technologies of coal-firedenergy products generation
