摘要：Nowadays biology teachers should be professional, ICT and information competent, and they must be able to create diverse teaching scenarios and apply modern technology, enabling students to acquire the knowledge and develop the competences needed for life in the 21st century. With the aim of determining the degree of implementation of information and communication technology in the educational process, a research was conducted on a sample of 65 biology teachers from the Split-Dalmatia County. The results show that biology teachers insufficiently apply ICT tools, and on the work they most commonly use Power Point presentations and their permutations. Length of teachers working experience and the types of schools in which they work are not factors frequently use of ICT tools in the educational process. The results can be the encouragement to transform the initial education of future biology teachers and guidelines for the necessary additional professional training of teachers practitioners and strengthening their ICT skills.
