摘要:This study aims to map and analyze the social networks of the carnival of Salvador, unveil its structural characteristics and the position of its players, based on Social Network Analysis (SNA). Carnival entities, their suppliers and support providers constitute the festivity. The study is based on a field research, which collected a sample using a questionary and semi-structured interview. The network under study is characterized by a low density, with a configuration similar to that of a double star. This kind of network has better performance in comparison to others, considering that peripheral players take the most diverse information to the hubs. As for centrality of intermediation in the group of players of the network, two stand out: The Carnival Center (that sells carnival passes and other carnival-related services) and the Afoxé Filhos de Ghandy (oldest entity parading in the Carnival of Bahia). These players are strategic for the distribution of information inside the network. Regarding the expansive capacity, the two most prominent actors are the Afoxé Filhos do Congo and the Bloco de Trio Papa .
