摘要:A medical inquiry was made about the 2421 students of the Shizuoka University concerning the subjective symptoms they complained they had. The symptoms were classified and studied under three major headings: bodily condition, mental condition, and nervous and sensuous condition (each heading consisting of ten minor items). The results of the inquiry are as follows; (1) As for the major headings, mental complaints are the highest in frequency, followed by bodily complaints and then by nervous and sensuous complaints. (2) As students advance in school year, individual differences become obvious, especially in mental complaints. (3) In comparison of the students in different departments of the University, those in the science and engineering departments show a higher frequency of complaints, especially in mental dissatisfaction. (4) The students who attend The Junior College of Engineering show a remarkable percentage ,of mental complaints. (5) A close relationship can be noticed between the bodily complaints and the nervous and sensuous complaints.
