摘要:Physiological effects of staiyng at the high altitude on the metabolic function as well as the blood were studied. The four subjects, including two sprinters and two long distance runners, climbed up to the top of Mt. Raicho-Sawa of altitude of 2280m and stayed for 12 days. These subjects had a daily exercise of 5 Km in walking and in jogging at this high altitude of 570 mmHg in atomospheric pressure. The experimental results were as followed; (I) Body weight, pH of the urine, content of protein in the urine, and flicker fusion value were not affected by this stay. (2) Hemoglobin in the blood was increased remarkably in the later half of this stay on the mountain. The increase of hemoglobin was found for 5 weeks after leaving the mountain. (3) In the first week after leaving the high altitude, the efficiency in exercise was found to be increased. On the ther hand the ratio of oxygen intake to the oxygen requirement was increased at the same stage on the sea level.
