摘要：The present study aimed to analyse the focus on the family by the professionals of a patient in tuberculosis treatment in the city of Itaboraí-RJ. Data collection was made through interviews of 100 patients of Tuberculosis Control Program. The criteria of inclusion in this study were: tuberculosis patients with more than one month of treatment, patients who had concluded the treatment six months before the start of data collection. The main findings were: the importance of family participation to succeed on the treatment of tuberculosis and commitment of the health professional with living conditions, health and housing of the patients.
