摘要:Focusing on a corpus of consolation letters dating from the latter part of the XVI th century and the early 1600s, this study highlights the links between praise and advice in this type of discourse. The consolatory speech of this time performs a mission of justice, paying homage to the dead, honoring his memory by the use of parenetic virtues. The mission of the comforter is thus rhetorical in nature, that is to say, inherently ethics.
