摘要：The apparition of the Virgen del Pilar to St. James the Apostle in the Roman city of Caesaraugusta was not accepted unanimously and received criticism from religious and secular intellectuals and also from the Roman curia in the 17TH Century. One of the greatest debaters was Juan de Ferreras (1652-1735), who wrote several contrary texts that were censored and condemned by the Inquisition in 1720 in an edict that imposed perpetual silence to theories contrary to tradition.
