摘要：Marchand speaks of the growth of the university and the library from a small college to a university with radidly growing graduate programs, especially after WWII. He notes the G.I. generation swelled undergraduate enrollment and were entering graduate programs. He state that the Library had acquired the fundamental research tools and many of the reference works in special fields that are essential to graduate study, even before rapid growth of graduate program.
