摘要:The image created by the sports clubs on minds, feelings, and thoughts of the audience is an important theme, as outward image which determines the aspects of perception of the audience. The aim of this study, modified by Jung (2012) and showed the image assessments of sports clubs about the sports audience, is, therefore, to determine whether the Club Image Scale (CIS) is a valid and reliable method for applying to the Turkish sports fans and clubs. This scale is a measuring tool that sets forth image evaluations for the sports fans about sports clubs. A translation and re-translation technique was exercised during translation of the CIS. Relevant study was carried out on the audience of a sports club which competes in the Beko Basketball League (n = 250). The structural validity of the measuring tool was tested through the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The item-total correlations and Cronbach's Alpha coefficients were determined, on the other hand, for the reliability analysis. Since the 11-item and unidimensional measuring instrument has no Goodness of Fit Index according to the findings, the number of items in the scale were reduced to 6 items (Chi-Square / DF = 1.11, SRMR = 0.03, RMSEA=0.06, GFI=0.98, NNFI=0.98, AGFI=0.94, NFI=0.98, and CFI=0.99). The internal consistency coefficient of the scale, in its modified form of 6 items, is 0.84 accordingly. It was detected, according to analysis results, that the CIS technique was a valid and reliable instrument for the studies in this area and could be used reliably in the Turkish literature of the sports field.
