摘要:Drug courts were proposed as a solution to the increasing numbers of drug involved offenders entering the criminal justice system. This study evaluates 290 Felony Drug Court participants in a large city in Texas to determine factors that are related to drug court completion. The population from which this sample was drawn consists of adults in the Felony Drug Court program from January 2006 to September 2010. The data are analyzed using bivariate analysis and descriptive analysis. This study reveals that employment and marriage are factors associated with drug court completion. The findings demonstrate that married participants who were employed when entering the program were more likely to graduate than participants that were unemployed, single and/or divorced. The analysis showed that 69.1% of the participants who graduated from the program were married and 65.0% of the participants who were employed when entering the program that graduated. Limitations of this study and suggestions for future research are discussed.
