摘要:At the beginning of the 20th century, the debates on Americanization intensified among European intellectual circles. These discussions were known in Spain thanks, on one side, to the increasing number of news coming directly from the United States, and on the other, to the appearance of new generations of Spanish intellectuals acquainted with the English-speaking world. After the outbreak of World War I, the weekly España became one the most important pro-allied organs. Its editors and collaborators continuously referred to the impressions and images of the United States spread in previous years, to present American neutrality as a model for the Spanish government.
