摘要：Since its beginnings as a profession in Spain, the ethical commitment of social work professionals has been seen in the responses they have offered during each era to the ethical conflicts and dilemmas that have occurred in their professional practice. Faced with the absence of similar studies at national level, the objective of this article is to explain our periodization proposal with regard to the evolution of the ethical commitment of social work professionals in Spain based on a study of the ethical values that they have themselves emphasised from 1861 to the present day. In order to do so, we explain the different periods in which we have structured the evolution of social work ethics in Spain, identifying certain elements of Stoicism.
