摘要:The Battery of Evaluation of Processes of Reading Revised (PROLEC-R) assesses the most important features of reading process, providing valuable information for detection of reading deficiencies in children. The objective of this study was to culturally adapt and normalize the PROLEC-R in a Mexican sample of children aged nine- to twelve-years-old. A total of 243 schoolchildren, coursing 4th, 5th and 6th grades participated in the study. Linguistic and pictographic adaptations were performed. Results shown that reliability and validity could be truthful indicators of the psychometric properties of the PROLEC-R adaptation, allowing to recommend the use of this battery within similar populations. This is important because it provides a tool to identify possible reading deficiencies in schoolchildren, which in turn could further lead to the development of pertinent strategies of prevention and treatment within the Mexican educational system, aiming to improve reading processes
