摘要：Metropolitan Anthony was frequently invited to speak by medical institutions, particularly by those caring for terminally ill or dying. In his talk he approaches the notion of the quality of life from an unexpected angle. He suggests that the quality of life is inseparable from the notions of human dignity, the aim and the purpose of life. Metropolitan Anthony compares the condition of a terminally ill patient with the situation of people who — often willingly — survive or die in other extreme conditions.
