摘要：This article discusses the concept of river basin from the point of view of different areas of knowledge, given the difficulty of the studies converge to a common denominator , for areas like the Hydraulic Engineering and Planning, among others, also classified as the unit of planning. Nevertheless , we carried out a theoretical analysis of economic geography, dealt with various concepts such as space, the region and the territory in order to elucidate their differences and , for various reasons, went beyond its meaning. The intention is not discuss how to define the scope of planning , but inquire about the best work schedule for urban issues, using the correct terminology for each.
